What you’ll learn
In this online talk, Ellie will show you how to design and care for a wildlife-friendly garden that thrives with minimal effort. You’ll learn how to:
● Choose plants and features that look after themselves while supporting pollinators and other wildlife
● Use clever design principles to reduce weeding, watering, and maintenance
● Make small, simple changes that have a big impact on biodiversity
By the end of the session, you’ll be equipped with ideas, knowledge and inspiration to create and maintain a beautiful wildlife garden in a manageable and time efficient way.

Meet your host, Ellie
Ellie Mitchell is a professional wildlife gardener based in Nottingham who designs beautiful, nature-friendly spaces that help biodiversity thrive. Her love of plants and wildlife led her to co-host The Wildlife Garden Podcast, write for Plantlife’s members’ magazine, and play an active role in the Wildlife Garden Project team. She also volunteers with Wild.NG as well as Hedgepigs, where she cares for sick and underweight hedgehogs.
Through this masterclass, Ellie will share the insights and techniques she’s learned from years of real-world experience, helping you design a garden with minimal upkeep that looks beautiful and supports wildlife.

Nope! The session is perfect for beginners and experienced gardeners alike. Ellie will guide you step by step through the process of creating a low maintenance wildlife garden.
The live session will last around 90 minutes, including time for questions at the end.
Not at all! Ellie’s own garden is a small “yarden,” so she knows exactly how to make the most of limited space. Throughout the masterclass, she’ll demonstrate techniques and share ideas that work in any size garden, from tiny yards to large plots. You’ll leave with practical ways to make your space more wildlife-friendly, whatever its size.
